Scottish Castle Tours
You can visit any of Scotland's castles, Abbey etc.. with Entire
Scotland's Scottish Castle Tours.
There are many areas throughout Scotland with Castles of which Francis has been visiting while on
scottish tours.
There are m any different types of castles, Abbey,
Cathedrals etc some are in ruined state, some as museums, some even have the owner living inside them. But
all in all, these Castles represent a major influence in Scottish history.
Again your type of Scottish Castle Tours with Entire Scotland
all will depend on your own time
schedule for your Scottish Castle Tours and your location of your
Scottish accommodations. In
the South of Scotland we can visit many Castles including
Neidpath Castle (Peebles),
Carsluith Castle which is within 2 miles of the nearby
Cairn Holy Burial Chambers, Cardoness Castle (Gatehouse of Fleet), Threave Castle (nr Castle Douglas - Town)
& Caerlaverock Castle. There is even the
Castle of St John located in the centre of Stranraer Town.
On our Scottish Castle Tours
we include many Abbeys in Scotland, some of which are interesting including the
Crossraguel Abbey (nr Maybole) which still has many of the
foundations to view which gives you a great insight into how spread out the
Abbey was in the past. There is
Glenluce Abbey, Dryburgh Abbey, Jedburgh Abbey & Melrose Abbey.
There are many Castles and Abbeys on our Scottish Castle Tours which it is unsafe to venture
in, for example Dunollie castle nr Oban is a small castle but it is
quite a strenuous workout just trying to reach the tall steep winding
path, and once at the top you are hit with a big signage in front of the
castle stating it is unsafe to venture inside.
On our Scottish Castle Tours
we can visit some of the most famous castles in
the World including Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle,
St Andrews Castle and
Eilean Donan Castle,
Dornie located just before Isle
of Skye and also
Urquhart Castle overlooking Loch Ness. Urquhart Castle is the only
Castle located beside Loch Ness and this is a very busy populated castle
especially
during Tourist season.
In
the West of Scotland we have some amazing castles including
Dumbarton castle which
played a major part in The West of Scotland's Strength due to it
location as a battery castle which could easily blast invading ships out
of the River Clyde. Other Castles include
Kilchurn Castle
(Loch Awe),
Dunstaffnage Castle
(east of Oban),
Dunollie
Castle
(north of Oban) and including
Castle Stalker
located on its own wee island just off of Appin. Our Scottish Castle Tours
in the east of
Scotland that we can visit include Balvenie
castle nr Dufftown and St Andrews Castle and St Andrews Cathedral.
